Job Description

Cardno Government Services is seeking a strong, enthusiastic leader in our Honolulu, Hawaii office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Planning, directing, and coordinating office operations.
>Achieving office performance goals
>Developing strategy and executing local business development efforts for growth.
>Contributing to the success of Cardno Government Services Division.

Direct Client Engagement:
>The candidate will be expected to have extensive direct client engagement, both in executing project work and developing new work with new future clients.
>Demonstrated experience and a strong local network within the federal engineering, planning, and/or environmental community is necessary to expand and diversify Cardno’s current federal portfolio.

Business Development:
In coordination with Cardno client and practice area leaders:
>Plan and support local marketing activities.
>Develop and execute state and local-level business development plans.
>Develop winning relationships with local business partners (e.g., small businesses).
> Cultivate a sustainable and growing backlog.

Financial:
>Review various financial statements and data relevant to the office.
>Report/provide input on projected staff utilization and project profitability.
>Plan and implement effective strategies for the financial well-being of the office.
>Work with Business Unit Manager to develop business improvement plans as necessary.

Human Resources:
>Identify and organize recruitment(s) and hiring of staff, as determined necessary.
>Establish organizational structures.
>Delegate tasks and accountabilities.
>Establish staff work schedules.
>Monitor adherence to rules, regulations, and procedures of Cardno GEAS.
>Promote strong office unity and supportive culture.

Supervise Staff:
>Lead, coordinate, manage, monitor, and be responsible for the day-to-day workings of the office.
>Monitor, evaluate, and communicate performance to staff.
>Mentor and lead staff by coaching and counseling employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
>Provide timely communication of important instructions and policy guidance to staff.
>Inform staff of changes or interpretation of laws, codes, programs, policies, or procedures.
>Monitor employee performance and implement improvements as needed

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

> BS/BA Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
>10+ years’ experience supervising and leading staff.
>Professional registration/certification (PE, AICP, RA, etc) is preferred, but not necessary.
>Demonstrated and enduring experience conducting business within the Pacific region.
>Strong relationships with federal clients is required.
>Contacts with local state, city/county, education, or industrial/commercial entities in Hawaii/Pacific is desirable.
>Proven track record as a high performer who can self-motivate to get results.
>Ability to exercise professional discretion and judgement.
>Experience in management/leadership positions and training/mentoring staff.
>Commitment to Cardno Values.
>Proven success in leading teams in support of client objectives
