Job Description

Cardno is seeking a Senior Project Manager to manage construction projects in our Cincinnati, OH office.

Cardno’s Restoration Services Team provides a broad suite of services in natural resource management, water resource management and permitting/compliance. Our team provides ecological restoration, invasive species control, revegetation, erosion control, wetland and stream construction, maintenance and other land management practices.

The successful candidate will assist with client and project management, project and crew scheduling, estimating and general supervision of construction field work and field crews.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Serve as Senior Project Manager for large, complex construction and restoration projects ($250,000+)
> Participation and compliance with Cardno’s Zero Harm safety program
> Provide Site Supervision and oversight of large/complex restoration project and ensure successful alignment with client and project schedule
> Drive operational practices such as safety, scheduling, equipment and material procurement, risk assessment/management, and quality control
> Accountable for contracted scopes of services, deliverables, project budgets, scope changes and schedule commitments
> Handle client relationships with minimal supervision, contribute to add-on work from existing clients
> Implement good business practices, such as proactively preventing task or project write-offs, limiting non-bill time on tasks and projects, and quickly review/approve draft invoices
> Communicate with group leaders about project status, revenue forecasts, and contract conditions
> Assist Estimating Team with proposal and bidding efforts and make important contributions to winning larger projects
> Conduct post project analysis to determine profitability and production rates to assist in future go/no go decisions

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

> Bachelor’s degree or higher in construction, engineering, design, environmental science or related field
> 15+ years professional Project Management experience; managing large, complex construction and restoration projects
> Adhere to corporate policies, operate through the proper management channels, and act in the best interest of firm
> Experience with Microsoft Project or similar program
> Self-motivated, strong initiative
> 10+ years’ experience with reading and understanding construction documents and specifications
> Strong communication skills, both written and oral
> Ability to travel, approximately 10-25% of the time

Desired Qualifications:

> Ability to identify and cultivate new client relationships
> Certification in stormwater/erosion control or other professional license
> Hazwoper, First Aid/CPR
