Cardno Government Services is seeking a Division Controller in our Charlottesville, VA office.

The Division Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and provide both operational and administrative support to the organization. The Division Controller supervises the daily activities of the Accounting Department. They will assists the CFO on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, cash-flow planning, audit initiatives, month end close, and financial statement preparation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

>Responsible for directing the accounting department functions
>Reviewing departmental day-to-day processes and procedures in an effort to streamline and identify process improvement opportunity
>Assist with establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, and procedures
>Ensure the organization operates in compliance with both internal policies and external regulations (GAAP, CAS, and FAR)
>Support all internal and external audits
>Lead the implementation of new accounting systems and upgrades
>Help simplify and automate current accounting processes
>Lead the month-end and year-end close process
>Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reporting packages.
>Prevent inaccuracies in financial statements by setting up internal control systems and adopting proper policies for financial reporting.
>Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations; ensure that all significant and judgmental accounts are materially correct
>Help the CFO direct and train the accounting department and other staff on financial management matters and regulations including but not limited to GAAP, IFRS, FAR, DFARS, and CAS
>Lead the annual Incurred Cost Submissions process
>Support the indirect rate build and ensure the integrity of the pools and costs centers
>Analyze new accounting guidance, and support the implementation of required changes (including revenue recognition and lease accounting)
>Research technical accounting and government accounting issues as required
>Support the budgeting and forecasting process
>Assist the CFO with other duties as needed

Job Requirements


>A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, with a minimum of seven years of related experience within a Government Contracting environment.
>Experience using Deltek Costpoint and Deltek Time & Expense
>Accounting System transition/implementation experience desired
>DCAA and DCMA accounting and administration requirements for Federal contracting
>Strong Knowledge of the Microsoft Office software
>Excellent written and verbal communication skills
