Job Description

Cardno is seeking a Casual Environmental Compliance Specialist in any US office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

>Provide environmental compliance consulting services to government and commercial clients
>Work with an interdisciplinary environmental compliance team to provide services in Germany and across the U.S.
>Serve as an environmental compliance specialist to evaluate diverse facility types for conformance to FGS Germany, federal, state, and local regulatory standards
>Assist with the development of findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to mitigate environmental hazards across various environmental media, including but not limited to, air emissions, potable water, water pollution control, hazardous materials management, solid and hazardous waste management, toxic substances control, etc.
>Perform English native speaker reviews of submittals and deliverables, such a reports and SOPs
>Support development of environmental awareness materials, newsletters, articles, and tips
>Support environmental screening and reviews of works orders, repair and military construction projects for negative environmental impacts and develop corrective and compensation measures to remedy negative effects
>Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments
>Review and update environmental training material and classes
>Update GIS layers and maps

Job Requirements

Basic qualifications:

>Experience with performing audits and inspections, supporting compliance with applicable Final Governing Standards for Germany, federal, state, and local regulatory standards
>Knowledge of US Army environmental regulatory standards and programs, especially at U.S. Army Garrisons in Germany
>MS Degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, or related field
>Experience with audits at U.S. Army Garrison in Germany
>Knowledge of U.S. Army Environmental Programs and Army community in Germany
>Experience with U.S. Army Environmental Management Systems (EMS) in Germany
>Strong written and verbal communication skills
>Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint, GIS, Environmental Review Guide (ERG) software and must be willing to learn custom auditing software systems
>Must be able to pass a Federal background investigation and obtain security clearance to work on site at Federal facilities.
