Job Description

Cardno is a professional infrastructure and environmental services company, with expertise in the development and improvement of physical and social infrastructure for communities around the world.

Cardno is seeking a Land Use Planner/Urban Designer in our Clearwater, FL office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Prepare/Compile land use applications
> Conduct land use research
> Write feasibility and due diligence reports
> Write master plan/ community plan documents
> Create planning communication exhibits
> Design conceptual site plans/community plans
> Visit development sites for data collection
> Attend community meetings and assist with meeting facilitation

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

> B.S. Degree in Urban Planning or similar AND at least 3-years’ experience
> Requires knowledge of the Florida Land Use System
> Experience working within land development/zoning codes and Comprehensive Plans
> Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
> Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel including styles and layout
> Understanding of land development, real estate, and basic construction practices
> Ability to travel around the State of Florida to attend meetings and hearings
> Basic working knowledge of AutoCad
> Experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign

Desired Qualifications:

> Knowledge of Sketch-up
> Knowledge of Website design and other social media platforms
> Experience in writing/preparing grant applications
> Experience in contract writing and/or proposal preparation
> Understanding in brownfields reuse planning
> American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification
> Advanced written and spoken Spanish
