Job Description

Cardno ChemRisk is seeking a Project Accountant/Billing Coordinator to support our finance team in a fast-paced environment. This role with work primarily with project managers and law firms to coordinate large volume billing. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of related experience, with the relevant skills and background that will be required in order to fill the position without extensive training.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Review client invoices for accuracy, work closely with Project Managers to finalize billing according to client deadlines
> Create and modify complex budget spreadsheets in Excel, including extensive data manipulation and formatting
> Provide budget, contract, and financial management support to Project Managers
> Set up and maintains projects per client requirements and company guidelines
> Track project budgets and work with Project Managers to assure project expenditures are closely monitored
> Accounts Receivable follow up unbilled receivables and variance reports for profits optimization
> Analyze vendor invoices and expense reports and confirms contractual compliance for invoicing inclusion
> Other related tasks, as required

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

> Experienced with professional services billing
> Working knowledge and understanding of project accounting principles
> Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
> Excellent oral and written communication skills; must possess a professional manner and customer service mindset
> Ability to work well independently and with a professional team in a fast-paced, team oriented work environment
> Detail oriented and resourceful, with the ability and aptitude to learn new programs and skills quickly
> Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Office
> High school diploma plus 5-7 years of relevant experience
> Must be authorized to work in U.S. without company sponsorship

Desired Qualifications:

> Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP
> Previous project accounting experience, preferably for environmental consulting, planning or engineering
> Experienced with professional services contracts, task orders and contract administration
> Bachelor's degree in business or accounting
> BST experience a plus
> Experienced in working with and providing support to diverse groups in all levels of management
> Solid time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines
> Positive and energetic attitude
> Self-motivated and confident with strong initiative
> Ability to see the 'big picture' and use common sense to make decisions
> Well-developed interpersonal skills with ability and desire to build trusting, long-term relationships
