Job Description

Cardno is seeking an Environmental Project Manager in our Tampa, FL office.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience providing permitting (including agency coordination), wetland delineation and/or mitigation, due diligence, project management and technical service in water/water quality, impact assessments, NEPA, listed species etc. Types of projects may include but are not limited to: Residential and commercial permitting, mitigation/conservation banking, water resources, roadway, natural gas pipelines, LNG facilities, and other energy related projects. In addition, this candidate will be responsible for managing tasks and projects, making successful handoffs to project teams, and sponsoring individual projects.

The successful candidate would ideally have connections and experience in the energy, residential, commercial industries in within the Southeastern U.S., preferably Florida. In addition, an understanding of the informational requirements of key permits at the local, state, national, and federal level (e.g. NEPA, ESA, CWA, etc.) is essential.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Manage key client relationships
> Responsible for project setup, project delivery, project controls, business development, client satisfaction and contract management
> Initiates, prepares and reviews proposals
> Serves as a representative of Cardno at project meetings
> Prepares project deliverables and project related correspondence
> Manages client contracts, including fee estimation, project set-up and execution of work under senior management supervision
> Establishes and maintains quality assurance plans and safety plans for assigned projects
> Prepares work plans, assembles project team, delegates tasks and ensures compliance with scope and timely completion of tasks

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

> Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental science, biological resources or closely related field required
> Experience in managing and providing environmental consulting services to project developers in support of project siting, design, and permit applications is essential
> Local, state, and Federal compliance and environmental permitting experience required
> Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience providing or managing technical services in a professional services setting, preferable in the Southeastern US. (Experience in Florida is required)
> 2-3 years’ experience in a client facing role (including business development and/or client management)
> Strong written and oral communication
> Ability to work independently
> Positive, flexible, & team-oriented approach
> Self-motivated and strong initiative
> Detail oriented, resourceful

Desired Qualifications:

> Professional certifications (Professional Wetland Scientist, PMP, FWC gopher tortoise authorized agent etc.) preferred
> Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience with Wetland and listed species permitting in Florida
> Previous experience performing wetland delineations
> Prior experience managing a project team
