Job Description

Cardno is a professional infrastructure and environmental services company, with expertise in the development and improvement of physical and social infrastructure for communities around the world.

Cardno’s Infrastructure Division is looking to add an experienced and motivated Project Manager within the local Utility, Engineering and Survey (UES) department in the Phoenix, AZ office. He or she should be a hands-on leader, willing to mentor and empower team members to creatively develop solutions for our clients and their projects. The Project Manager will work closely with clients and the design teams to coordinate the completion of projects while ensuring quality standards, maintaining project schedules and staying within project budgets are met.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Have/develop general knowledge of Utility Engineering procedures and techniques
> Marketing Utility Engineering services to clients within allotted geographical area
> Development of proposals
> Preparation of Utility Engineering deliverables
> Financial Management of Projects to ensure achievement of profitability - MOR
> Represent Cardno at client meetings for projects and marketing and project management activities
> Assure that we deliver quality work products to all clients
> Meet or exceed client expectations (external and internal) and assure that all clients are satisfied (Preferably “Delighted”)
> Strive to improve processes for all aspects of the Department/Assure that we utilize all existing processes
> Manage and schedule sub-consultants
> Ability to work independently and supervise/mentor staff
> Ability to manage and prepare plans, permitting, and cost estimating
> Ability to prepare, monitor and update schedules and budgets
> Ability to define and develop scope of work and design budgets for projects
> Strong written and verbal communication skills
> Self-motivated
> Communication skills to provide proposal preparation and client outreach

Job Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Education Requirements:

> 5 to 10+ years of experience
> PE required
> Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
> An understanding of the ASCE 38 is preferred

Mental/Physical Demands:

> Normal office environment with occasional field site visits for progress review, quality control or estimate new work. Occasional and sometimes frequent overnight travel may be required


> Responsible for directing and scheduling field technicians and Project/CADD Coordinators
