Job Description

Cardno’s Restoration Services Team is seeking a Senior Ecologist with experience developing his/her own business and client base. Qualified candidates will be expected to manage client relationships and eventually develop a high performing team in the Louisville, Kentucky market. Cardno is an environmental and natural resource management consultancy providing a broad suite of services in Water Resources Management, Natural Resources Management, Permitting & Compliance, and Liability Management. Clients turn to Cardno for help navigating complex environmental, natural resource, and business challenges because of our creative problem-solving and the successful track record of our multidisciplinary team.

This person will work closely with our Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky Operations and support our multidisciplinary team of accomplished biologists, ecologists, water resource specialists and engineers on a variety of projects in Kentucky and throughout the Midwest. This person will work closely with Sr. Project Scientists and Project Managers throughout the Business Unit and support clients in the transportation, energy, development and municipal market sectors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Client and Business Development
> Project Management
> Staff Management
> Regulatory Permitting
> Ecological Surveys and Habitat Evaluations, including Wetland Delineations and Monitoring
> Ecological Monitoring and Reporting
> Ecological Restoration and Mitigation Planning
> Develop and actively pursue new markets to acquire additional work for the company
> Maintain existing client relationships and develop new business

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

> BS in Natural Resources related field
> At least 10 years’ experience with Project and Client Management
> Experienced in wetland delineation, permitting, mitigation and monitoring
> Experience in transportation, energy, development and municipal market sectors
> Wetland and Stream Restoration experience required
> Ability to manage large projects and develop +$500K in new revenue annually
> Demonstrated experience developing work and building a technical support team (seller/doer)
> Excellent oral and written communication skills
> Ability to work well with internal staff and a wide range of clients in a fast-paced work environment

Desired Qualifications:

> Stormwater Management and LID (Low Impact Development/Design)
> Energy Sector experience
> Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS)
> KYTC Prequalification for Various Environment Categories
