Job Description

Cardno is looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our team of multidisciplinary resource experts in the Assessment, Permitting, and Compliance Group. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience in regulatory compliance and permitting actions in the Pacific Northwest including NEPA/SEPA analysis and pertinent regulations such as CWA, ESA, and NHPA.

The ideal candidate will be capable of balancing business development and project responsibilities related to environmental planning, ecology, endangered species, wetland delineation and analysis, socioeconomics, air quality analysis, and/or noise analysis. The ideal candidate will have solid connections with government and/or private developers for projects involving energy, water resources management, transportation, climate change resilience, and/or urban development.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Acquiring new clients and project opportunities commensurate with the technical service offerings of Cardno
> Coaching and mentoring of team members in project management and business development
> Managing environmental permitting projects of various sizes
> Leading and supporting the development of proposals of various sizes
> Communicating with clients about future work and supporting business development activities
> Participating in key client management and growth and $1M in sales annually
> Coordinating teaming and subcontracting discussion/agreements for specific project opportunities and to help grow the sales and sector practice

The candidate also should possess strong communications and organization skills along with discipline to manage projects effectively on time and within budget. The position will work closely with clients, Cardno technical staff, Cardno client service leadership, and key practice teams to execute significant projects and help grow Cardno within the Pacific Northwest.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

> Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science, planning, or closely related field
> Fifteen years of relevant professional experience in environmental assessment
> NEPA/SEPA-related compliance and permitting
Experience and contacts with federal and state regulatory agencies in the Pacific Northwest
> Five years managing medium to large multidisciplinary projects >$250K
> Federal and state permitting and certification experience with projects in Washington and Oregon
> Previous consulting experience a must, including business development and sales
> Established client relationships with private developers and/or agencies in the Pacific Northwest U.S.
> Knowledge of pertinent environmental regulations
> Positive and energetic attitude, able to work well independently and with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, team oriented work environment
> Solid time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on and manage multiple tasks/projects with tight deadlines
> Self-motivated; strong initiative; resourceful
