Cardno is seeking a Senior Planner in our Clearwater, FL office

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Applies sound and diversified knowledge of planning principles and practices
> Makes decisions independently on problems and methods
> Requires use of advanced techniques and modifications and extension of theories, precepts and practices
> Must demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving complex problems
> Transportation planning and PD&E studies
> City/County Staffs managing/reviewing Site Plan Submittals
> Brownfields Re-use Planning
> Testimonial Presentations at Public Meetings (City Councils, Board of County Commissioners, and Planning & Zoning Boards) etc.
> Directs and/or designs plans, calculates and prepares planning documents for respective discipline, including code ordinances, conceptual approvals, infrastructure planning and modeling, municipal planning and regional developmental studies, and the selection and application of systems and materials in accordance with governing codes
> Assists in construction bids or negotiations, construction administration, and pre-project presentations
> This position provides expertise in project management skills

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

> Minimum 10 years' experience in private land and development support and municipal planning including but not limited to, feasibility and due-diligence studies, master planning, conceptual site layouts, graphic presentation materials, public engagement, municipal code writing, re-zonings, development plans, economic development coordination and other related planning services
> FDOT experience required
> Project Development and Project Management experience required
> AICP required, LEED certification preferred
> Strong skills with Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office software and a working knowledge of AutoCAD are desired
> Some travel required to serve other locations in the Southeast
